課程概述

The 18-week English course emphasises conversation skills, and students are given opportunities to use English during in-class discussion sessions. The training of English reading is combined with oral practice. Students may think the reading texts are relatively easier than what they have read in high school, in terms of sentence patterns and vocabulary use. However, the material for the reading text we use is always chosen for its clarity and because it can arouse student opinions. The reading comprehension is checked via speaking. The writing part is done through doing three writing assignments throughout the term. There will also be group projects and group work.

課程目標
Learning attitude, as well as performance in class, is consistently evaluated throughtout the term. Overall evaluation: Students are given a grade not according to whether they have a good command of English, but according to their learning attitude, whether or not they try, and class participation.
